On Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd March 2025, the Royal Southern Yacht Club held a 'rock up and race' event called the Boysterous Cup. Ten J/70 teams competed in 26 races over the course of the weekend...and the whole thing was sponsored by NPT Management Systems!
Our support helped to make the Boysterous Cup a smashing success. The overall winners were the Royal Southern Junior Academy Green Team—or the dream team, as they'll be known from now on—who triumphed over a number of experienced university sailing teams to take the cup. Talk about rocking the boat!

Aside from the superb displays out on the water, one of the most enjoyable parts of the whole weekend was the 'Boysterous Bash' on Saturday night. It was a great time for everyone in attendance, complete with beers, burgers and fries—plus a bad shirt competition!
Thanks to NPT's contribution, the Saturday night social also included a karaoke evening. We were holding out hope for a rendition of 'Sailing' by Rod Stewart, but perhaps everyone thought that would be a little too obvious.

All in all the weekend went swimmingly, and we can't wait for the next big event at Royal Southern.
DID YOU KNOW? This isn't the first time we have supported Royal Southern. Last September, we sponsored Splash Week—several days of fun activities for children and teens, including sailing lessons and boat races as well as movie nights, fancy dress parties and more.

Imperial Cars are on of the UK's largest used car retailers. They offer a huge range of vehicles, and they're very well-respected within their industry; just a few months ago, they were named Used Car Supermarket of the Year at the 2017 Used Car Awards.
Imperial Cars first achieved ISO 9001 certification in January 2016. We worked closely with the Imperial Cars team to make sure they were prepared for their intensive 4-day audit, and we were of course very pleased when they were certified by a UKAS-accredited certification body.
NPT Management Systems have continued to support Imperial Cars in a consultancy capacity over the last couple of years, and we recently helped them to transition to ISO 9001:2015, the latest version of the ISO 9001 standard for quality management systems. Once again, this process went smoothly and successfully - here's what the Imperial Cars team had to say about the service we provided during the transition:
"Neil Peattie and his team supported us every step of the way as we worked towards achieving the ISO 9001 accreditation. Since attaining the standard, we have engaged Neil as a consultant to help us continually improve our business and ensure that we are working to the latest requirements of the standard.
"Without Neil's help and support over the past three years, we would not have been able to achieve what we have in relation to our quality management system, which has had a very positive impact on our product quality, customer experience and staff, and therefore would have no hesitation in recommending him and his team."
- Neil Smith, Operations Director

As a proud Hampshire-based company, we at NPT Management Systems like to do what we can to support the local community in Southampton and the surrounding area. In addition to working with numerous local businesses and helping them to achieve ISO 9001 certification, we have provided hi-vis jackets to the Hamble River Sailing Club's Junior Sailing group; we have sponsored events at the River Hamble Games; and, most recently, we lent our support to Hamble Lifeboat by sponsoring a page in their 2018 calendar.

NPT Management Systems have sponsored the January page of this year's calendar, which is now on sale for just £5. All proceeds go towards helping Hamble Lifeboat save lives and continue their good work for years to come.

Our Principal Consultant Neil Peattie graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a Master's degree in Strategic Quality Management. Obtaining this qualification was a very important step on Neil's path to becoming one of Hampshire's leading quality consultants, and earlier this month, he returned to the University of Portsmouth to speak to the students currently enrolled on the MSc Strategic Quality Management course.
During Neil's visit, he shared his industry knowledge with the SQM students and offered professional advice based on his years of experience providing a quality consultancy service for clients right across the South of England. He also answered a range of queries from the students themselves in a wide-ranging Q&A session. SQM lecturer Andrea Foley was very pleased with how the session went, stating:
"The students appreciate the insights visiting speakers, such as Neil, bring to the course and their engagement was evident during his Q&A session."
At NPT Management Systems we are keen to maintain a strong relationship with the University of Portsmouth and specifically the SQM course going forward, as this is where the next generation of quality professionals are developing their knowledge and taking it into the industry. Neil's recent visit left him confident that the future is very bright indeed!
