On Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd March 2025, the Royal Southern Yacht Club held a 'rock up and race' event called the Boysterous Cup. Ten J/70 teams competed in 26 races over the course of the weekend...and the whole thing was sponsored by NPT Management Systems!
Our support helped to make the Boysterous Cup a smashing success. The overall winners were the Royal Southern Junior Academy Green Team—or the dream team, as they'll be known from now on—who triumphed over a number of experienced university sailing teams to take the cup. Talk about rocking the boat!
Aside from the superb displays out on the water, one of the most enjoyable parts of the whole weekend was the 'Boysterous Bash' on Saturday night. It was a great time for everyone in attendance, complete with beers, burgers and fries—plus a bad shirt competition!
Thanks to NPT's contribution, the Saturday night social also included a karaoke evening. We were holding out hope for a rendition of 'Sailing' by Rod Stewart, but perhaps everyone thought that would be a little too obvious.
All in all the weekend went swimmingly, and we can't wait for the next big event at Royal Southern.

We have recently been working with lifejacket manufacturers Baltic Safety Products UK Ltd, who requested our assistance in transitioning to ISO 9001:2015 (the latest version of the ISO 9001 standard).

Back in 2016, we helped David Store Navigational Management to achieve ISO 9001 certification with zero non-conformances. Established in 1968, Hamble Lifeboat do great work saving lives on the Solent coast. According to their website, they attend 100 incidents per year on average, operating in an area 15 miles long and 10 miles across at its widest point. The Hamble Lifeboat team work at all hours of the day and night, 365 days a year, even in the worst weather conditions.

For example, back in March we told you about Baker Trayte Marine, a Hampshire-based company offering a variety of specialist marine services; we helped them to implement a robust quality management system (QMS) and pass their stage 1 ISO 9001 certification audit with zero non-conformances raised.
Well, our Principal Consultant Neil Peattie recently returned to the Baker Trayte office to assist with another audit that was being carried out by the company's certification body. This was Baker Trayte Marine's first audit since they achieved certification in March, and we're pleased to report that, once again, everything went smoothly and no non-conformances were raised.
